THE BEGINNING

Velex was born from a vision to provide high-quality marine stereo

Velex was born from a vision to provide price right and high-quality marine stereo to those people who loves outdoor life. The Velex founders wanted to provide motivation and inspiration for stereos to be used in harsh environment. We knew that, in order to achieve this, we needed to speak to people just like you – The people that need, buy and use the equipment daily. We attended trade shows around the world and spoke to both importers, wholesalers and consumers to gain an understanding of their needs, wants and pain points.

2005

We set out to create what the marine entertainment needed

What we found was that marine stereos had a high barrier to entry for non-professionals. The marine stereo’s user environment was tough – narrow space for installation, salty water, high humidity which makes the radios easily to be corroded and rusted, strong sunshine, ultraviolet rays and dust, extremely high internal temperature for the radio to be continuously running at big power output. And so, we set out to create what the marine entertainment needed: elegant looking yet easy mounting, clear sound and long lasting marine stereos. In 2005, we began manufacturing our own radio equipment – and Velex was born! The thinking behind this was simple: to make our entertainment equipment widely available to all the outdoor lovers.

This was directly in contrast with our original goal

Over time, we noticed a problem. Because we weren’t in direct contact with our customers, we didn’t receive their feedback and hear their thoughts on our products and how we could make them better. This was directly in contrast with our original goal, which is to be the first choice for outdoor lovers, be it professionals or someone completely new to this radio.

2018

We revamped Velex to become a Direct to Consumer Business

So, in 2018, we revamped Velex to become a Direct to Consumer business. We set up world wide inventory to meet customer’s needs, to make it simple and speedy for anyone to purchase quality outdoor entertainment equipment. Velex has supplied these entertainment equipment and parts for everyone from hobbyists. We invite you to become apart of our community of marine stereos and enjoy streaming music via Velex Radios.
